Hi Brian,

Agree with the air lock suggestions above. When flushing the system also try reverse flushing with a hose pipe, does your thermostat have a screw or nut on it to bleed the last bits of air from it? If so try that as well, good luck with & let us all know how you get on.

Hello and Welcome Brian. Car looks superb, thanks for posting, Sorry for the late reply, and thanks to for joining our little neck of the woods, as Russ said im tagged as Cobracol on here, and albums of any events ive been to and photographed, are listed under that name, please feel free to look through them if you want, I also try to include a short review, just to give people an overview of the meet that pics don't cover.

Is your car actually overheating?, or simply loosing water after topping up?, 80-90 degree is about normal

Your header tank should not be full BTW, the system will only hold as much water as it needs, the rest will simply be ejected as airspace is needed to build pressure, without popping pipes ect, I expect that a difference in pipe temperature could simply be due to the returning water being cooled by the radiator

If overheating, I agree with all posted comments regarding air pockets, as our cars are all hand built, and vary so much, air may not always find its way to the header/expansion tank, which ideally should be at the higher than the engine, of course on our cars that is not always possible. Feel free to give me a shout if you need any more help.
