The 2018 Race Retro powered by Motor Sport, Europe’s #1 historic motorsport show, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the ground-effects era in the Motor Sport Hall of Fame Live, the centre piece of the show. The showstopper of the display was no doubt the Lotus 79 which took Mario Andretti to the world championships and was the first car to take on this ground breaking technology back in 1978.
Joining the Lotus were other iconic cars of the ground-effects era including the Williams FW07 which saw Alan Jones win the championship in 1980, the Ralt 3 Martin Brundle raced against the late great Ayrton Senna in British F3 and the ex-Siegfried Stohr Chevron B48 F2, freshly restored by Steve Worrad Racing.
The Motor Sport Hall of Fame Live display surrounded the Motor Sport Live Stage playing host to motorsport legends, many of which are linked to one of the iconic cars that were on display throughout the four halls. 250 specialist exhibitors filled the halls including Race Series, Car Clubs, Autojumble and those with the parts you just can’t find anywhere else.
Outside, the Live Rally Stage saw around 80 Group B and C rally cars across the Saturday and Sunday putting on a fantastic display of what Rally Cars can really do. For those wanting to get a piece of the action, Rallying with Group B sold passenger rides throughout the weekend.

As he became famous with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, we have few hints on his growing interest in classy cars. He and his wife Nancy…

Twenty-thirteen has been an eventful year for the automotive world. We've seen birthdays: The iconic Porsche 911 hit 50, and Aston Martin has made it to 100.
Many interesting cars have been released, from the nippy Ford Fiesta ST, through the breathtaking Jaguar F Type range, right through to the next generation of hypercars. Mclaren, Ferrari and Porsche have proven that a hybrid is no longer the exclusive preserve of the eco-hatchbacks, whilst setting blisteringly fast Nurburgring…
