Inspired by the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed,the traditional industrial Lancashire town of Bolton,in commemoration of it's status as the TWIN TOWN of the world famous racing town of Le Mans, is to stage a fabulous 2 day celebration of all things motorsport.
The Bolton Le Mans Motorsport Festival will coincide with the iconic Le Mans 24 hour raunique free to enter event featuring the famous Le Mans 24 hour race, alongside a collection of famous Le Mans race winning cars in the Town Hall square.
All aspects of motorsport will be on display throughout the weekend including Formula 1, World Rally Championship and British Touring Car Championship, as well as Super Cars and Classic Car displays. Alongside the fabulous auotmobiles will be a host of activities including the Live Music stage, the Fine Food Fayre, showcasing the finest organic produce that the region has to offer, the exclusive Fine Arts and Crafts and Antiques market and a traditional family Funfair, all combining to offer something for everyone young and old alike and will make for a fantastic family day out!
But Bolton does'nt have a Race Track....!!
Bolton has a long tradition of being at the heart of innovation, indeed the Industrial Revolution of the 1800's was sparked by the collaboration of 2 local inventors James Arkwright and Samuel Crompton, the inventor of the Spinning Mule in 1779, which resulted in the mechanisation of the textile industry making Bolton a world leader in the new industrial era. It is this inspiration that see's Bolton take the lead once more through the develpoment of the VIRTUAL RACE TRACK. Using the latest ONLINE GAMING technology the Bolton Le Mans Motorsport Festival will be staging the first Virtual Le Mans 24 hour race. Race teams and individuals will compete in the race under full l'Ouest Racing Club rules and the Festival will stage a truly GLOBAL race experience open to anyone with access to a P.C. Competitors will be competing for the 'Barons Virtual Motorsport Cup' as well as the title of 'Winner' of the Virtual Le Mans 24 hour race
