The dates of the second Donington Historic Festival have been confirmed as Friday May 3th and Sunday May 5th 2013 – a weekend that definitely deserves priority placement in your diary.
The inaugural event in 2011 was a tremendous success, attracting 12,000 people who basked in the Donington sunshine for two days of action-packed historic racing with 300+ cars out on track. While the organisers can’t guarantee the same idyllic weather, the 2013 Festival is guaranteed to deliver an equally thrilling array of huge grids of the cream of Europe’s historic single-seaters, sportscars and touring cars, all battling it out around this hugely popular and exciting circuit in the hands of some of the top drivers in the sport.
Car clubs were another important focus for the first Festival, with hundreds of classics from 38 clubs forming a fabulous display in the infield and entertaining the crowd with parade laps, and the event organisers are keen to build on this for 2013. With fantastic racing, a decidedly car club-friendly atmosphere, a superb location and attractions on site such as the Donington Grand Prix Collection museum, the Donington Historic Festival weekend is the perfect choice for club AGMs or other celebrations, and the organisers are inviting clubs to apply to take part

As he became famous with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, we have few hints on his growing interest in classy cars. He and his wife Nancy…

Twenty-thirteen has been an eventful year for the automotive world. We've seen birthdays: The iconic Porsche 911 hit 50, and Aston Martin has made it to 100.
Many interesting cars have been released, from the nippy Ford Fiesta ST, through the breathtaking Jaguar F Type range, right through to the next generation of hypercars. Mclaren, Ferrari and Porsche have proven that a hybrid is no longer the exclusive preserve of the eco-hatchbacks, whilst setting blisteringly fast Nurburgring…
