Event Description

The spooktastic Halloween Bonfire Burn-Up brings the curtain down on another successful season's drag racing at Shakey County; the last blast before winter! Besides the final showdown for the guys and gals from Outlaw Street, the weekend will be packed with plenty of good old traditional head-to-head 'devil you like' RWYB, grudge racing, car clubs, Halloween cauldron of treats, flame hot burnouts, bonfire and fireworks, and all this before the silliness ghostly evening begins in Kenny's Bar for the Halloween Fancy Dress Ball hosted this year by a voluptuous Devil and a naughty wizard (!) with both kids and adults competitions taking centre stage towards the witching hour. Sunday sees the final Bracket Gamblers Race of the year and a special Bike Bracket Gamblers as well.

The weekend also features an open Public Track Weekend for Run What Ya Brung. Anything goes from blood curdling street cars to the frightening world of modded cars, trucks, super fast street bikes, and devilish drag race bikes! If it’s got wheels scare yourself and race at Shakey’s world record holding quarter mile drags strip.

In the pits why not dress you trailer up to be the best Halloween horror of the year. There will be also prizes for the best pumpkin design on a car or motorcycle as one for the best smoketastical burnout of the weekend.

And that’s not all Sunday sees the Halloween Gamblers Drag Race for money as well as trophies and goodies from the raceway’s many supporters. And, of course, what makes Saturday evening so special at the drag strip, flame burnouts, fireworks and the traditional monster bonfire. How can you afford to miss all this fun!

But perhaps above and beyond everything else that occurs at the Bonfire Burn Up - it’s the family atmosphere and all the fun for both young and old that truly makes this event something special. Remember to bring all the kids on Saturday afternoon for the costume party and trick or treating. We guarantee - they’ll have a blast.

There's also the adults costume party later in the evening accompanied by musical entertainment from Jamie's disco.

As usual the weekend is open to all makes and models of cars and motorcycle giving you the thrill and competitive straight line speed without getting zapped by those annoying road side cameras or getting an unnecessary speeding ticket! The only cameras pointing at you will be the track side photographers. And the only tickets you'll receive will be your own personal performance printout registering your reaction time, 60ft, eighth mile and overall time and speed. Its fast and its accessible to a variety of ages and vehicles in a safe and legal environment. Car and motorcycle clubs are welcome to come along and display or take to the track! Just give us a call.

“The Voice” & His Vehicles

As he became famous with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, we have few hints on his growing interest in classy cars. He and his wife Nancy…

Twenty-thirteen has been an eventful year for the automotive world. We've seen birthdays: The iconic Porsche 911 hit 50, and Aston Martin has made it to 100.

Many interesting cars have been released, from the nippy Ford Fiesta ST, through the breathtaking Jaguar F Type range, right through to the next generation of hypercars. Mclaren, Ferrari and Porsche have proven that a hybrid is no longer the exclusive preserve of the eco-hatchbacks, whilst setting blisteringly fast Nurburgring…
