Gwilo International was an English company selling a range of exclusive model cars, based on 1/18th scale Maisto models and produced in very small quantities. The model maker who has built these highly collectable models, Graham Wellbelove, now offers some remaining items of the Gwilo range for sale, at very interesting prices. This is the story behind these models:
In 1999, Graham was contracted by Gwilo to build a limited edition of 500 concept models of the Lamborghini Diablo SE 30 in the livery of a Northamptonshire County (England) police car, as well as several gold and chrome plated model cars. All these models were based around Maisto 1/18th scale models, the components for which were bought unassembled direct from Maisto. The decals and roof lights of the police cars were manufactured in England as was the painting and assembly.

Unfortunately, Gwilo went into liquidation. Graham wasn't paid for his models and as a result, he lost both a large sum of money and his private business. He negotiated with with the liquidator and bought back the stock which he offered for sale to try and recoup some of his losses. In the meantime, a lot of these models have been sold, but there are still some Lamborghinis in police livery and chrome plated McLaren F1 Roadcars available directly from Graham.
