My car passion as with many originated as a young boy. At the age of 3 a was able to name the cars we past on the road. Lego and meccano as well as a fleet of dinky and match box cars were played with.but i have always a passion for custom Hot rod and american cars.. I got drawn to the Buick as my first car. Not sure why.
The cars landed on these shores from Ohio in February 2013 ..
With only 35000 miles on the clock she is in mint condition..
I picked her up from Norwich in April Easter Sunday
She took the 6 hour journey in her stride.
I discovered she had a particularly modern suspension design with shocks and coil springs.
One of the shocks was disconnected from the axle which is why she rolled so much.
I got some new shocks for only $12 each when I was in the States and brought them back in my suit case.
My friend Paul helped me fit them. Those bolts had not moved for over 50 years and took some undoing 1 tread at a time.
My main adventure with her was doing a days filming for a Horror Film remake. It meant a drive up to the lake district for the shoot to take place.. She was not problem on the hills and the startled look on the faces of on coming drivers on the narrow roads was some thing to behold.. The Filming involved me doing several takes collecting the victim, and young female hitch hiker.. Then I had to drive up the narrow hilly lane .
I backed in to a farmers gate post on turning round .. Not a mark on her but the gate post was demolished .
The drive back was challenging until I was back on the Duel carriageway and then the motorway.
She never missed a beat.
