Chatsworth House TVR Meet 2013

On Sunday 28th April, a group of TVR owners and enthusiasts took a trip to Derbyshire for the annual TVR Chatsworth House gathering.

Organised by the TVR car club, the event is the largest of it’s kind with hundreds of Blackpool-built cars attending. 2013 was the 8th year, and approximately 595 TVRs made the trip from all over Europe to park in front of the stately Chatsworth House.

Cars came from as far afield as Italy and Norway to attend the day, with one attendee driving his Tamora 1000 miles to park his car with the others.

Slightly closer to home, a group of Lancashire owners started the day at the Tickled Trout service station in Preston. Around 20 TVRs drove in convoy, led by the Purple Sagaris.

After a motorway run, the convoy stopped off in Cheshire to pick up another 15 or so TVRs for the second leg to Derbyshire, covering winding country roads and open dual-carrigeways.

Finally at Chatsworth, the various Tuscans, T350s and Wedges dispersed to park in rows with the same models. There was no shortage of sights to see, with almost 600 TVRs.

Even the rare models were brought out, with the Vulcan, Typhon and Sagaris prototype on public display. Some owners had even modified their cars, with a unique blue Sagaris targa conversion. Rather amusingly, a T350 with a custom bodykit managed to slip into the Sagaris line.

Attendees could also take a stroll in the gardens and inside the manor, which has recently been restored.

The day came to a close with a drive back to Lancashire in the Sagaris. An interesting end to a very interesting day.
